Amarillo College joins the NJCAAE as a new era for Esports begins
Amarillo College’s Badger Esports program is pleased to announce an exciting new affiliation that will provide students with significantly enhanced opportunities to excel in the rapidly growing world of competitive gaming.
Badger Esports has officially gained membership in the National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE), a nonprofit association serving only two-year, technical, and community colleges in collegiate esports.
“AC will now have access to a robust platform for esports competition, governed by a code of conduct that emphasizes sportsmanship, inclusivity, and professionalism,” said Chris George, director of Badger Esports. “We invite all interested students to fill out the Enrollment/Interest Form to express their interest in joining the program.”
All submissions will be reviewed and further details on team formation, training schedules, and upcoming competitions will be forthcoming.
Students at Amarillo College will now have the opportunity to compete against community colleges nationwide in a variety of popular esports titles, across multiple tiers of competition. NJCAAE offers a full range of opportunities to both seasoned enthusiasts looking to compete at the highest levels and newcomers looking to develop their skillsets.
As part of the NJCAAE, George points out, all participants are expected to uphold the association’s high standards of conduct. This includes maintaining an inclusive and respectful environment, both in and out of game, and adhering to the rules and regulations set forth by the NJCAAE.
“Esports is more than just a game; it’s a thriving community and a growing industry,” George said. “We are excited to offer our students the chance to be a part of this dynamic and competitive environment. I encourage all our students to take advantage of this opportunity to represent AC on the national stage.”
