Deon Hope was born and raised in Barbados prior to moving to Kingsville, Texas in 2014. He attended Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK), in Kingsville, Texas, where he was a collegiate athlete in track and field. Deon had much success in the classroom and on the track as he completed both his Bachelors and Master's at TAMUK, and received many awards for his achievements on the track, including becoming a National Champion. Deon moved to Amarillo, Texas in 2020 with his family as he completed school and became employed with Amarillo College in 2021, where he now works as a Career Navigator for the Adult Education & Literacy program. He is God-fearing, family oriented, a sports enthusiast and a strong advocate for helping people achieve their goals.

Veronica Alvarado Potter lived in Jalisco, Mexico prior to moving to Amarillo, Texas with her parents in the early 2000s. Upon high school completion, Veronica enrolled at Amarillo College to pursue an associates degree in Business Administration and in 2019, she graduated from the Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business at West Texas A&M University with a Cum Laude bachelors degree in International Business and a minor in Finance. She is currently pursuing a Masters degree at the same institution. Veronica has received several recognitions for her academic coursework and community involvement, including being featured as an Inspiring Latina.
As a former ESL student herself, Vernica enjoys working as a Career Navigator for the Adult Education & Literacy program at Amarillo College as she gets the opportunity to advocate and encourage students to reach their full potential. Veronica is an animal lover, enjoys the outdoors and traveling with her family.

Sherika Scotland is a native of Saint Croix, United States Virgin Islands. However, she moved to Amarillo in 2019 to serve as a social worker in the community. Although her employer changed in 2022 when she began working as a Career Navigator with Amarillo College, her drive to serve others has not changed. Sherika believes that great service is at the heart of the Career Ready You Program and strives to share that heart with every student that enters her office. Every individual should be given the opportunity to achieve their educational and career goals. Sherika understands that there are sometimes barriers to reaching those goals and she always looks forward to aiding students overcome these barriers. Sherika desires to "shine the Light", she knows God wants her to shine by letting every student she works with know that she genuinely cares about them and wants them to succeed.
