Description: This course provides the participant with a foundational understanding of how the brain functions during learning and how to bridge learning theory into educational practice to ensure student success. Participants will also explore research-based principles for smart teaching. Finally, participants will design a learning experience utilizing best practices for brain-based learning.

Description: In this course, participants will explore relevant theories of instruction, analyze 21st century learning environments, and identify and practice instructional strategies for student engagement, critical thinking and collaboration in the classroom. Participants will also examine theories of motivation and cognitive engagement in learning. Participants will focus on how classroom, school, work, and social environments shape and influence student learning, engagement, and motivation.
