The Badger Bound Scholarship Program is designed to bridge the gap between high school success and college completion. Because of your hard work, you have secured:

  • Zero Cost for Tuition & Books: Up to three years (or 45 credit hours) at Amarillo College at no cost—after all other sources of aid have been applied. 
  • A Head Start: A seamless transition from high school to a college degree or certificate.
  • Academic Momentum: Students who complete 15 or more hours of dual credit are much more likely to complete their educational goals beyond high school. 
  • Financial Peace of Mind: The opportunity to complete a higher education degree without the burden of tuition debt.

Next Steps

Here's a quick way to determine which group you belong to:

  • Seniors: You are a current high school senior with 15 or more AC Dual Credit hours.
  • Current Dual Credit Students: You are not yet a high school senior but are enrolled in AC dual credit classes.
  • Pre-Dual Credit Students: You are in middle school or high school, not yet enrolled in dual credit, and interested in earning up to 45 hours of tuition-free college credit through Badger Bound.
  • Re-Enrollment: You received your Badger Bound scholarship within one year of high school graduation, are still eligible, and have NOT taken classes at Amarillo College for 12 months or more.

Steps

If you’re a SENIOR, here are the actions you need to be taking the spring of your senior year.

  1. Complete Your AC Change of Major Form

Even though you have taken dual credit classes, you need to submit the Change of Major form so that our advisors can help ensure that your academic pathway matches your education and career goals.

  1. Submit Your FAFSA

To activate your Badger Bound Scholarship funding, you must have a completed financial aid file on record with us. If you need help, our financial aid office is ready to assist.

  1. Get Advised.

Meeting with an Advisor will help you map out your 45 free credits and ensure you are taking the right classes for your specific degree or career goals.

  1. Meet with your counselor for approval of classes.
  2. Register using the Registration Hub through ACConnect.

  1. Find out if your high school has a dual credit agreement with Amarillo College.
  2. Talk with your high school counselor to get approval for dual credit enrollment.
  3. Complete your application to Amarillo College at ApplyTexas.org.

NOTE: If it has been more than a year since you have taken a class at Amarillo College, you will need to complete the application for admission.

  1. Apply to AC through Apply Texas website.
  2. Go back to Seniors Tab and follow steps 1-3.
