Instrumentation and Electronics is part of the Amarillo College Advanced Manufacturing Division and is one of five options you can select from. Instrumentation technicians are employed in a large variety of industries to maintain equipment that controls temperature, pressure, and flow of material or speed and position of objects.
Many of our graduates go on to work at places like Cacique Foods, Phillips 66, Plains Dairy, and Nestle Purina, and Valero.
Instrumentation is the science of measurement and control of pressures, levels, temperatures, flows, or any other variable in process control. It is used in all automated processes, whether it is in power generation, oil refineries, chemical plants, food processing, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and building environmental control. Instrumentation is a vital part of any production or manufacturing plant, it’s what keeps them running. AC Instrumentation graduates are field-ready and qualified for entry-level positions in various manufacturing facilities.
