Program Information

Welcome to the Machining Technology program of Amarillo College. In this program, students will learn exciting new skills to begin a new career.

An Academic certificate is offered as well as individual classes through Adult Continuing Education. Students can attend morning or evening classes and can start the program at any semester.

As of April 8, 2015, the Machine Technology Program is officially accredited.  NIMS Accreditation (National Institute for Metalworking Standards) is the highest benchmark for metalworking training programs in the United States.  

This accreditation is based on the industry-written and industry-approved NIMS Machining Level I Skill Standard, with a focus on four main skills credentials:

Job Planning, Benchwork and Layout Milling I
Measurement, Materials and Safety Turning Operations: Chucking Skills

Amarillo College is proud to be one of only two schools in Texas accredited by NIMS.
