CONNECTING WITH OTHERS ONE MASTERPIECE AT A TIME

The Amarillo College Photography Program prepares individuals for entry-level employment in photography. It also offers transferable classes for those wishing to seek a baccalaureate degree, provides job-enhancement skills for working professionals, and provides photography courses for the enrichment of those in the community whose avocation is photography. Students can choose a photography pathway at AC that suits them best, and each includes curriculum components featuring cutting-edge techniques being used in a dynamic industry.

What can you do with a Photography degree or certificate?

Photographers use their technical expertise, creativity, and composition skills to produce and preserve images that tell a story or record an event. Working conditions for photographers vary considerably with their specialty. Some travel for photoshoots; others work in their own studios. Still others work in laboratories and use microscopes to photograph subjects. Employers usually seek applicants with a “good eye” and creativity, as well as a good technical understanding of photography. Photojournalists and industrial and scientific photographers often need a bachelor’s degree.
