1. Applications for the next PTA Program open on January 1st,  and close on May 31st.
2. Students not currently enrolled at Amarillo College must complete an Amarillo College application before submitting an online application to the PTA Program.
3. Informational meetings are scheduled in May prior to the closure of the application period.
4. It is recommended that students complete their applications early in the application period. Application dates will be used in case of a tie.
5. Notifications of acceptance into the PTA Program will be sent on June 15th
6. Students accepted to the next PTA class will start the program in August.
7. Eight hours of observation with a licensed PT or PTA are required. The observation log must be submitted through the online application website.
8. Acceptance to the program is based on a point system. Application points will be awarded for the following courses (10 points for “A”, 7.5 points for a “B”, and 5 points for a “C”):
   • BIOL 2401: Anatomy and Physiology I
   • BIOL 2401: Anatomy and Physiology II
   • PSYC 2314: Lifespan Developmental Psychology
   • ENGL 1301: Freshman Comp
   • 3 hours of Speech
   • 3 hours of Language, Philosophy, or Culture/Creative Arts
