Kathie Fuston represents Moore County as a non-voting member of the Amarillo College Board of Regents. She joined the Board and was sworn in on Aug. 31, 2022. 

Fuston is director of human resources for the Moore County Hospital District and additionally serves as executive director for the Moore County Health Foundation.

Under her leadership, the Moore County Health Foundation has increased its presence in the region through collaboration with the Moore County Campus (MCC) of Amarillo College by raising funds for a Nursing Scholarship Endowment for Moore County residents to attend the Rural Nursing Education Consortium program at MCC.

Originally from Tennessee, Fuston in 2012 was appointed to serve on the Tennessee Historical Commission by Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam. Before moving to Dumas, Texas, she served as chair of the South-Central Tennessee Tourism Association.

Since her arrival in Moore County, she became a founding board member of the Dumas Downtown Association, and she presently is chair-elect of the Moore County Chamber of Commerce. In 2019, she was named Volunteer of the Year in Moore County.

Fuston is a graduate of East Tennessee State University. She and her husband, Steve are parents of twin adult sons and have two grandchildren.
