JOIN NURSING VIRTUAL JOB FAIR

This fair is hosted by Amarillo College Career and Employment Services with Amarillo College RN and LVN departments.

Students that are invited are any level of RN students, and any level of LVN students. Students that are pre-nursing are also welcome to attend to see what a job fair is like, and also make connections with potential employers. 

Employers looking to hire RNs and LVNs are more than welcome to register and attend.

Resume Critique Day: We will have 2 opportunities to have your resume critiqued. In person at WEST Campus, Lecture Hall Conference Room, or online.

Directions to Lecture Hall Conference Room: Lecture Hall building, suite 102, room 102B, next to the AskAC counter by the west entrance to the building. There’s the sign that says 102 above the doorway to the offices and room 102B is the second office to the right.

How to get a good group of students: Make sure you send your logo employmentservices@actx.edu and when registering for the fair be specific as to what majors you are looking for, and what positions you have open.

CSL Plasma: 

Within our collection centers, we often have a variety of part-time and full-time opportunities for individuals at an entry-level as well as those with experience to provide excellent customer service to plasma donors. These facilities are typically open 7 days a week. Positions typically hired include: Medical Reception & Support, Technicians, Phlebotomists, Nurses (LVNs, LPNs, & RNs) & Paramedics, Operations Management, Quality Management, Physicians & Center Medical Directors (Contractors), Management Trainee - Leadership development positions to assist in developing recent college graduates or individuals with equivalent work and Supervisory experience begin their management career in Operations or Quality Management.

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center: 

Correctional LVN
Employees in this classification are responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care activities in an assigned correctional facility. They function within their legal scope of practice and in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organization and practice setting. Work is performed under the direction of a registered nurse as part of a total correctional managed health care team in providing safe and competent care to patients.
Correctional RN Employees in this classification perform responsible professional nursing care at a unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Responsible for the care and treatment of patients in accordance with accepted nursing and medical standards administrative nursing personnel. Supervises other subordinate clinic personnel. Work is performed under correctional clinic conditions; position requires a high degree of contact with patients, other clinic personnel and outside professionals.

Texas Panhandle Centers: 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse II (RN II) provides routine nursing services providing for the optimum health of individuals
The RN II provides training in health-related skills, completes assessments, and provides assistance in the activities of daily living
The RN II documents services provided in the individual’s record; rotates with other nurses for after hours and weekend “on call” nursing coverage; and ensures nursing services are delivered in compliance with the principles and standards of Home and Community-based Services, Texas Home Living, General Revenue Services, Texas Board of Nurse Examiners rules and regulations, local, state, and federal statues/laws applicable to service delivery
The RN II works under the moderate supervisor of the Director of IDD Nursing or his designee, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement
