Amarillo College Departments Attending

 

Amarillo College Child Development Lab School: West Campus. Supervise classrooms of infants-preschool age children to allow full time teachers morning and afternoon breaks. Supervise children during nap time to accommodate full time teacher lunch breaks. Prepare snacks for children at the Lab School. Complete compliance training for snack preparation, first aide, SIDS and all other required training as indicated by the Texas Health and Human Services Comission. Establish and maintain positive relationships with children and families served at the Lab School. Engage with children playing and reading to children in care. Tasks such as: washing dishes, laundry, sanitizing toys/children's cots.

 

Amarillo College Career and Employment Services: Washington St. Campus. Answer and operate telephones speaking with students, faculty and employers, making notes, taking information and directing calls as necessary. Provide general reception and office support responsibilities, including but not limited to greeting guests, answering phones, scheduling appointments, copying, filing, and on-campus errands. Instruct students how to use an online job board for job searching and resume building. Maintain College Central Network by critiquing resumes, evaluating job postings, verifying employers and other duties as needed. Post to Social Media platforms about job postings, CES events and important CES updates. Uphold a positive attitude and willingness to help in any way possible in accordance with AC’s values: Wow, Innovation, Family, Fun and Yes!

 

Amarillo College Writing Center: Washington St. Campus. Peer Tutor in Writers' Corner on Washington St. campus. Must have successfully completed Composition I and II. Flexible, part-time hours. All majors may apply. 

 

Amarillo College Human Resources: Washington St. Campus. Assists with all tasks needed by the Human Resources/Payroll Department. Answer and operate telephones speaking with students, faculty and employers, making notes, taking information and directing calls as necessary.  Provide general reception and office support responsibilities, including but not limited to greeting guests, answering phones, scheduling appointments, copying, filing, and on-campus errands. Other Job Requirements: Must be dependable, Good interpersonal communication skills and customer service skills. Technical skills a plus. Regular attendance is required, subject to probationary period.

Amarillo College Advising Department: Washington St. Campus. Student worker positions open.

 

Amarillo College disAbility Services: Washington St. Campus. To assist the disAbility Services Department in maintaining phone calls and personal contact with staff/students when other staff members are unavailable. Duties and Responsibilities: Answer telephone and take messages. Make appointments for students as needed. Track and maintain files designated for specific programs. Use fax machine to obtain records from various Dr.'s offices and schools. Assist students in completing documents or getting on the computer system. Prefer student who can work through lunch.

 

Amarillo College Smart Start Center: Washington St. Campus. Pending student worker position open.

 

Amarillo College Library: Washington St. Campus. Monitor computer access and assist students with academic and production software, AC online services, etc. Correct, repair, and/or report equipment problems. Perform general and specific technical tasks related to troubleshooting, menu maintenance, installation of software, etc. daily routine cleaning and other assigned tasks.

 

Amarillo College Moore County Campus: Dumas Campus. 4 student worker positions open in Dumas, TX. 

 

Amarillo College Student Life: Washinton St. Campus. Student worker position open.

 

Amarillo College Hagy Center for Young Children: Medi-Park Campus. Work under the supervision of the Lead Basic Skills Teacher. Serve, promote, and protect children's health and safety.  Read and instruct children in literacy and math.

 

Amarillo College Center for Continuing Healthcare Education: West Campus. Student worker will assist with a variety of duties within the Continuing Healthcare Education department.  They will learn about the CE division of Amarillo College and how we help graduates & professionals with continuing professional education in the community.  The student worker will also collaborate with program directors in preparing course material and information needed for state requirements.
