What can you do with a Child Development degree?

With many state and national initiatives currently focusing on quality instruction for young children, Child Development has become a field of growing importance and opportunity. Whether you are just starting out or already working with children and want to grow professionally, the Child Development program at Amarillo College meets you where you are.

There are many ways to utilize a degree in Child Development — in preschool teaching, program administration and ownership, and in careers with agencies such as Child Protective Services, Child Care Licensing, and the Texas Workforce Commission. Graduates also work in Head Start and Early Head Start programs, school-based pre-K, home visiting programs, child life services, and family support roles.
