Curriculum Options for Photography Majors:


Photography A.A.S.

The Associate in Applied Science degree is designed to prepare the student for entry level positions in professional photography, It is general in nature, encompassing the fundamentals and basics of photography. Also included in the curriculum are courses in Illustrative, Color, Digital (Adobe Photoshop) and Portraiture, to name a few. Students are also required to successfully complete 18 hours of transferable general education courses.

Photography A.S.

Parallels the first two years of most four-year institutions offering a major in Photography. Students must provide for their own use the following equipment: digital camera (of design approved by instructor), light meter, flash unit and tripod.

Photography Certificate

The Certificate in Photography is primarily made up of Photography courses without the 18 hours of general education course that are included in the AAS degree. These courses are preparation for your entry into the photography profession. This degree is a total of 42 hours of course work and it requires two years of part-time enrollment to complete.
