Dr. Neal D. Nossaman
Dr. Neal D. Nossaman is an optometrist and co-owner of Broome Optical. He has been practicing optometry in Amarillo since 1987.Nossaman attended and graduated from Amarillo College and was the Student Body President during AC’s 50th anniversary year. He graduated from Texas Christian University in 1983 and University of Houston College of Optometry in 1987.
He was formerly on the AC Board of Regents from 1994-2006. He was again elected to the Board in May 2015 and is currently serving a 2-year unexpired term.
His community involvement includes having served on the boards of the following organizations:
Juvenile Diabetes Foundation (now known as JDRF)
American Cancer Society
OUTstanding Amarillo (a support group for LGBT teens)
Amarillo College Alumni Association (founding member)
Amarillo College Foundation
Amarillo Museum of Art
Amarillo Symphony
Chalice Abbey
First Christian Church Board of Elders
He was named Amarillo College Distinguished Alumnus in 2008. He shares his free time with his husband, Greg Welch, who is an Employee Safety & Health engineer at Pantex, and their French bulldog, Chloe.
