About Our Program

Earn your Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Radiology in as little as 2 years

In the Amarillo College Radiography Program, you will learn the basic skills and knowledge required for entry-level radiologic technologist positions, while you gain hands-on instruction in area facilities. You will also develop the professional and personal traits required for working in the healthcare environment. 

Upon successful completion of the Radiography Program, you may sit for the national certification examination given by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. As an Amarillo College graduate of the Radiology Program, you are required to seek a state license with the Texas Medical Board in order to practice in the state of Texas.

If you are a student seeking entry into the Radiography Program, we require you to first review the Steps to Apply.

Next, we encourage you to read the Application Considerations for the Radiography Program in order to understand what is required of you as a candidate.

Finally, you must file the specific Health Science Application and complete the additional admission procedures as required.

Practicum Courses

During practicum courses, your classroom work will be promoted by the application of academic and job-related learning to job situations.

AC RADR Courses Grading Schema

  • A = 91.5 - 100
  • B = 82.5 - 91.4
  • C = 74.5 - 82.4
  • F = less than 74.5

A grade of "D" is not possible in RADR courses.
