Congratulations future AC graduates!

The 2019 Fall Commencement Ceremony will feature our 2019 fall graduates and 2019 summer graduates. 


Graduation Ceremony Information

  • Graduation Date:  Friday, December 20, 2019
  • Ceremony Start Time:
    7 PM (NOTE: Information related to when potential graduates and guests should arrive will be sent out by December 1, 2019.)
  • Commencement Ceremony Location:
    The ceremony will occur in the Amarillo Civic Center Coliseum. Guests should enter through Civic Center entrances #1-#8 and report to the Coliseum. Students should refer to their letter for check-in reporting instructions. 
  • Guest Arrival and Ticket Information:
    Guests do not currently need a ticket to attend their graduate's ceremony. 

    Arrival time information and door open time will be sent out soon. 

    Guests are encouraged to view the parking information that will be posted on this site prior to attending the ceremony.  
  • Graduate Student Commencement Arrival and Line-Up Instructions
    All students on the graduation list should receive a graduation email/letter containing their general graduation information. The detailed graduation instructions will be sent to each student's Amarillo College email address. 

    Final Instructions will be posted to this page by December 1, 2019. 
  • Parking:
    An abbreviated parking map is provided in the final graduate instructions (above). However, an expanded Civic Center map is provided here
  • Graduate Application: Students do not need to apply to graduate. Once all degree requirements are complete, the record will be updated for graduation purposes.

    Summer graduates and fall graduates on track to complete all coursework and degree requirements by the end of the fall 2019 term, will be sent a letter showing their pending graduation status and any missing (if applicable) courses. Students can bring this letter from the Registrar's Office to the AC Bookstore to purchase their cap/gown.

    If summer graduates who wish to walk in the fall ceremony have not heard anything by October 1, 2019, they should contact the Registrar's Office.

Commencement Day Instructions and Brochure

Students who have not received communication exactly one month prior to the ceremony are not guaranteed to appear in the brochure. Students who have not received communication by December 1, 2019, will not be guaranteed to have a name card ready at check in.

After all student records receive a final evaluation (no later than 10 days following the end of the appropriate, graduating term), one diploma will be made available, at no cost, to the graduate for a period of up to one year succeeding the student's official graduation date. After a one-year period has passed or for students who misplace a diploma or need multiple copies of a diploma, a $15 fee will be charged for each copy or additional copy.

Students will be notified when diplomas are available for pick up from Amarillo College's Washington Street AskAC counter. Graduates who live out of town and are unable to pick up a copy of their diploma in person can email for information requests related to diploma pickup.

Please Note: The blue diploma covers are only provided to students who attend the Amarillo College commencement ceremony.
