Ceremony Start Time:

  • *3 PM - Health Services and Industry Communities
*7 PM - Business, Computer Information Systems, Creative Arts, Education, Liberal Arts, Public Service, and STEM Communities

NOTE:  If you have not received any graduation or ceremony information by early March and believe you should be graduating, please contact the Registrar's Office no later than 3/31/2020.
(The final graudation instructions will be sent out prior to May 1, 2020.)

  • Commencement Ceremony Location:
The ceremony will occur in the Amarillo Civic Center Coliseum. Guests should enter through Civic Center entrances #1-#8 and report to the Coliseum. Students should refer to their final graduation letter for check-in reporting instructions.
  • Guest Arrival and Ticket Information:
Guests do not currently need a ticket to attend their graduate's ceremony.

Arrival time information and door information has been sent out to the graduate's email addresses.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early due to the fact that the Civic Center tends to host multiple same-day events.
  • Graduate Student Commencement Arrival and Line-Up Instructions
All students, on the graduation list, should receive a graduation email and letter containing their general graduation information by early March. The detailed graduation instructions will be sent to each student's email address prior to May 1, 2020.

  • Parking:
Parking is available in the Civic Center's parking lots. Graduates have been sent a Civic Center map with parking information. An expanded Civic Center map is also provided here
  • Graduate Application: Students do not need to apply to graduate. Once all degree requirements are complete, the record will be updated for graduation purposes.

Spring graduates and summer graduates on track to complete all coursework and degree requirements by the end of the spring or summer 2020 term, will be sent a letter showing their pending graduation status and any missing (if applicable) courses. Students can bring this letter from the Registrar's Office to the AC Bookstore to purchase their cap/gown.

If summer graduates who wish to walk in the spring ceremony have not heard anything by March 31, 2020 they should contact their academic advisor.
