GRADUATION INFORMATION

2018 Fall Commencement Ceremony


The 2018 Fall Commencement Ceremony will feature our 2018 fall graduates. Future graduates (spring) will receive their commencement information at a later date.

Guest Information:
Graduation Date:  
Friday, December 14, 2018

Ceremony Start Time: 7:00 p.m. (However, guests should plan to arrive between 6:15-6:30 p.m. due to parking, construction, finding seat, etc. considerations.)

Location: Amarillo Civic Center Coliseum

Tickets: Guests do not currently need tickets to attend the ceremony

Graduating Students:
Students do not need to apply to graduate. Once you complete all your degree requirements, your record will be evaluated for graduation purposes.

If you are on track to complete all your coursework and degree requirements by the end of the fall 2018 term, the Registrar's Office will send you an email and letter showing your pending graduation status and any missing (if applicable) courses. Bring the letter you were sent from the Registrar's Office to the AC Bookstore and purchase your cap and gown.  

Commencement Day Instructions
Finalized instructions will be emailed to students (student email account) by December 1st. Students can also view the final commencement instructions (minus their designated arrival time) on this Web page by December 1st.

PLEASE NOTE: If you do not receive a graduation e-mail and letter showing your in progress and/or in progress degree requirements, there will not be a check-in card available to you at the December Commencement Ceremony check-in desk and your name will not be listed in the Commencement brochure. If you have not been notified of your eligibility to walk in commencement by October 1, 2018 and believe you should be on the list to graduate, please contact registrar@actx.edu.

Diplomas
After all student records are evaluated for graduation (no later than 10 days after the end of the semester), one diploma is currently available, at no cost, to the graduate for a period of up to one year from the student's official graduation date. After a one-year period has passed or for students who misplace a diploma or need multiple copies of a diploma, a $15 fee will be charged for each copy or additional copy.

Students will be notified when diplomas are available for pick up from Amarillo College's Washington Street AskAC counter. Graduates who live out of town and are unable to pick up a copy of their diploma in person can email registrar@actx.edu for information requests related to diploma pickup.

Please Note: The blue diploma covers are only provided to students who attend the Amarillo College commencement ceremony.
