Jeannie George

Jeannie George, Director of Student Learning Support

After going to AC for a couple years, Jeannie transferred to Midwestern State University and received her BS in Radiological Sciences and MS in Radiological Sciences with an Administration focus.  She discovered her love of higher education working at Midwestern and with students in the Rad Tech Club and on campus in the Vinson Health Center.  Jeannie has worked with AC’s Student Support Services on the West Campus since 2014 and recently began learning more about student services on the Washington Street Campus.  Jeannie is a lifelong learner that enjoys spending time with her family, camping and gardening.


Melissa Mijus

Melissa Nju, Administrative Assistant

Melissa is an Amarillo College graduate who enjoys reading, gardening, BBC television shows, and puzzles in her spare time.


Azelin Roberts

Azelin Roberts – "Hi there, my name is Azelin Roberts, and I am so excited to be working in the Ware Academic Success Center! I have my Bachelor's degree in Communication with minors in Theology and Economics. I am currently working towards my J.D., so I can practice Human Rights Law."


Denise Macon

Denise Macon – Denise joined the ASC-Ware in 2019. She holds an AA in Secondary Education, and a CDA in early child development. She is currently pursuing a BS in Biology and Education at Stephen F. Austin State University. Denise’s specific expertize is MLA and APA format, but she is also proficient in GED preparation, Psychology, History, PowerPoint, and Google Docs. In addition, she strides in giving each individual student attention and respect encouraging success. In her free time, she likes spending time with her two kids, and traveling.        


Nicole Hartman

Nicole Hartman – Hi there! My name is Nicole Hartman. I graduated magna cum laude from New York’s Technical Career Institutes in 2013 with an A.A.S. in Human Services. Although I absolutely loved studying the social sciences, upon moving to Texas two years ago I discovered that my real passion lies in animal science. I have since shifted gears and am working towards a B.S. in Animal Science with a specialization in pre-veterinary medicine and plan to later become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. I am very passionate about making learning as enjoyable as it is stimulating, as well as developing and strengthening personal study methods. Carol Coleson

Carol Coleson – Carol was born and raised in Oklahoma City. She received her Bachelors of Music in vocal performance at Oklahoma State University and her Masters of Music at West Texas A&M University. In addition to being a tutor at Amarillo College, she also works full time at Amarillo Opera as the Assistant to the Director, Mary Jane Johnson, and the Director of Outreach and Education.  She has been a young artist for two summers at Taos Opera Institute in New Mexico, and is currently an administrative assistant for the program. Carol has also been a vocalist at Romania’s ICon Arts summer music festival and a Teaching Artist at Amarillo Opera. In her free time, she enjoys performing and also working as a fitness instructor. Other organizations she has been involved in include: Sigma Alpha Iota, TriDelta, Junior League, President’s Ambassadors, Relay for Life, Get Fit Ambassador, Performing at Amarillo Little Theater, and Amarillo Opera.

Brittnee Talley

Brittnee Talley – Hi, I’m Brittnee. I am 23 and graduating this semester with a degree in Graphic Design. I love all things design, from photos, fashion, ads, posters, movie intros, magazines and whatever else catches my eye. I love constantly creating and making new things all the time. I am excited to help teach others how to learn to create as well.
