Surgical Technology

Applications will be accepted year round, however, students who would like to begin the program in the fall must have the application on file by May 1st. ( Please note that the start date for this program has changed, from a summer start to a fall start).

All applicants will be contacted during the first week of April to setup interviews.  Those applicants that are accepted into the program will be contacted the first week of May.

* Must have all three hepatitis-B immunizations prior to beginning of program.

The Surgical Technology program at Amarillo College follows the standards developed by the American College of Surgeons, the American Hospital Association, the Association of Surgical Technologists, and the Association of Operating Room Nurses. The program is approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

If you are considering making application to the Amarillo College Surgical Technologist program, you should plan to carefully read through all sections of this website. You will need to download and print the application forms and submit the completed forms, along with other required documentationto the program director.

Note: It is not necessary to place your application paperwork in any special type of binder. The program director will prepare a file folder to receive the paperwork.
