Credit Courses

The Criminal Justice Programs offer an Associate in Science in Criminal Justice for students who wish to pursue a four-year degree. Since 1968, the Panhandle Regional Law Enforcement Academy has been training people for careers as sheriff's deputies and city police officers. Upon completion of the Law Enforcement Academy, students receive 26 credit hours supplying the requirements for a Certificate of Completion in Law Enforcement or the core requirements for an Associate in Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice Law Enforcement.

Continuing Education

In addition, the Criminal Justice Programs conduct mandated Continuing Education or In-Service Training and Seminars for law enforcement, corrections, and other criminal justice fields using local, national, and internationally recognized speakers. Amarillo College is a licensed training provider through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).
