Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and GoTo Meeting are popular platforms for video conferencing, and we know many Amarillo College students, faculty, and staff use it for personal and professional meetings.
The virtual background feature on each platform allows you to display a custom image as your background during meetings. We created a handful of AC-inspired virtual backgrounds so you can show off your Badger pride while meeting virtually. Enjoy!
Once you've launched a Zoom meeting:
While you're setting up your video and audio before joining a meeting, select Background effects. It's just to the right of the microphone switch. Your background options will display on the right.
To alter your background after you've already joined a meeting, go to your meeting controls and select More actions, then Show background effects. Follow the same steps as outlined above.
You can customize, replace or blur your webcam background during meetings with a third-party service, ChromaCam! If you have a paid GoToMeeting account, you can use your credentials to download and access ChromaCam Pro for free. If you are an attendee joining someone else's meeting (i.e., you do not have your own GoToMeeting account), you can download ChromaCam Lite for free.
Note: We recommend hosting or joining from the desktop app if you plan on using ChromaCam. Please check for ChromaCam updates on a regular basis.
