Amarillo College has been approved to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements.

NC-SARA Compliance

Amarillo College is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA), which is an agreement among member states, districts and territories that allows students to take online degree credit courses and programs offered by postsecondary institutions in another NC-SARA participating state. As such, students who are residents of member states may take Amarillo College courses for credit.

State Authorization

State Authorization is the Federal Regulation that requires higher education institutions to obtain authorization to offer distance education courses and programs to students located in a state in which the institution offering the course is not physically located.

Amarillo College is a participant in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). Membership in NC-SARA is voluntary. It allows for a more efficient way for AC to meet Federal Regulation standards so that qualified students located in other states may enroll in ACs online courses and programs.
