Music Department for March, 2020

The AC Music Department and AC Concert Choir will be hosting youth choirs from the Ft. Worth Academy of the Arts next Sunday, March 8, at 3:00pm in the Concert Hall Theater.  A photo of one of the ensembles is attached, and here’s a brief description:

The Singing Girls of Texas (SGT) was founded in 2001 as a sister organization to the world-renowned Texas Boys Choir. SGT ladies rehearse and attend school at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (FWAFA), a public charter school which provides excellent artistic and academic instruction to students in visual arts, dance, theater, musical theater, and choir. Renowned for its outstanding timbre, variety of repertoire, passion, and exceptional performances, SGT has performed across the U.S., and internationally in Austria, Italy, and Greece, and Canada.

The Singing Girls of Texas will be joined by the Ft. Worth Academy Singers, and your own AC Concert Choir will also be performing several pieces on this fun, FREE, hour-long exchange of wonderful choral music.

For the first time in Amarillo, we will present all 32 Piano Sonatas by L. van Beethoven.

Due to complications in international traveling, the AC Piano Series concerts scheduled for March 26th and April 14th will be postponed for a later date in the fall.
