Amarillo College has an exceptional music curriculum dedicated to developing the performance, pedagogical, and industry tools needed for students to excel in their chosen musical profession, or to build marketable skills as a non-music major. As one of a handful of two-year institutions accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music, AC is committed to the high learning standards needed for a successful transfer to a four-year university. Closely associated with the area’s top opera, choral, and instrumental organizations, AC’s music program features a highly committed, genuinely engaged, world-class faculty. A full schedule of concerts, recitals, and special events provide free entertainment opportunities for the College and the entire regional community.

What can you do with a Music degree?


Options abound for people with music degrees. Performing and teaching are the two most common careers in music, but the landscape is ever-changing and entrepreneurial skills and the ability to use the latest relevant technology can lead to unlimited career opportunities – from artist management to musical marketing and even talent scouting. Graduates in production and music technology fields find rewarding futures in recording, mixing and mastering. There are careers in music therapy, instrument design and music journalism. The sky is the limit in a world filled with music.
