I.D.E.A is about SUCCESS

The school is responsible for identifying students, coordinating services, monitoring progress, and evaluating results.

Services include individually designed instruction, modifications, and accommodations based on the IEP. Modifications which change course requirements may be offered..

Appropriate accommodations are determined by the students IEP.

 

College

"Passive Accommodation"

A.D.A. (Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990)

Section 504: Rehabilitation Act of 1973

A.D.A is about ACCESS

The student must self-identify or disclose his/her disability. The college is only responsible for providing reasonable accommodations for students who qualify.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to provide equal access and participation. The college is not required to lower or effect substantial modifications to essential requirements.

Appropriate accommodations are determined based on students disability documentation and individual need.
