Flexible and Alternate Work Arrangements for Staff
Amarillo College recognizes the value of flexible work options and will consider flexible work arrangements that allow staff to balance work and personal commitments while ensuring the operational and business needs of the College are met.
Flexible/alternate arrangements available include flextime, compressed workweek, regular telework, and occasional telework.
Employees interested in flexible work arrangements should review the following documents and then engage in a conversation with their manager/department head.

STEPS FOR REQUESTING REGULAR TELEWORK:
- Talk to your supervisor about whether your job position is eligible for REGULAR telework.
- Review and understand the policy, procedure, FAQs, and ITS Requirements.
- Complete the Telework Agreement with your supervisor (except for the final signoff section).
- Complete the ITS Teleworking form and meet with ITS for approval.
- Review the “Dos and Don’ts” document.
- Contact orgdev@actx.edu to be assigned the required training.
- Ask supervisor to complete final sign-off section of telework agreement.
- Forward copies of the signed telework agreement, signed ITS approval, and certificate of training module completion to Human Resources.
- Begin the 90-day trial period.
STEPS FOR REQUESTING OCCASIONAL TELEWORK:
- Talk to your supervisor about whether your job position is eligible for OCCASIONAL telework.
- Review and understand the policy, procedure, FAQs, and ITS Requirements.
- Complete the Telework Agreement with your supervisor (except for the final signoff section).
- Complete the ITS Teleworking form and meet with ITS for approval.
- Review the “Dos and Don’ts” document.
- Contact orgdev@actx.edu to be assigned the required training.
- Ask supervisor to complete final sign-off section of telework agreement.
- Forward copies of the signed telework agreement, signed ITS approval, and certificate of training module completion to Human Resources.
SUPERVISORS of TELEWORKERS
- Review the “Dos and Don’ts” for supervisors document.
- Complete the Supervisor training module prior to any employee beginning telework.
STEPS FOR REQUESTING COMPRESSED WORKWEEK:
- Talk to your supervisor about whether your job position is eligible for COMPRESSED WORKWEEK.
- Review and understand the policy, procedure, and FAQs
- Complete the Compressed Workweek Agreement with your supervisor.
- Forward a copy of the signed compressed workweek agreement to Human Resources.
- Begin the 90-day trial period.
