Ashley Roberts

Ashley Roberts joined the Amarillo College Music Department in Fall 2026 as a faculty member teaching Music Theory, Aural Skills, Audio Engineering, and Applied Brass Lessons. She holds a Master of Music in Trombone Performance from the University of North Texas, a Graduate Certificate in Trombone Performance from the University of Central Arkansas, and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Central Arkansas.

Professor Roberts has more than a decade of teaching experience working with students from elementary through collegiate levels. She previously served as a Teaching Assistant at both the University of North Texas and the University of Central Arkansas. In these roles, she coached chamber ensembles, assisted with music education courses, supervised student teachers, and helped coordinate educational and performance events.

As a freelance performer, Roberts has appeared with numerous ensembles, including the Amarillo Symphony, the Conway Symphony Orchestra, and the Dallas Brass Band. She has also performed in the International Women's Trombone Choir at the 2021 and 2024 International Trombone Festivals. Additionally, she has been featured on several professional recordings with the North Texas Wind Symphony and the University of Central Arkansas Trombone Ensemble.

Beyond the stage and the classroom, Roberts actively seeks opportunities in the music profession. She serves as Advertising Manager for the International Trombone Association Journal and is the host of the podcast, “Redefining the Musician.” During her graduate studies, she founded the Denton Brass Collective, an all-women brass ensemble. Furthermore, she has presented research on both music theory and music education related topics at several College Music Society National Conferences.

Ms. Roberts lives in Amarillo with her fiance, Ben, and their two cats, Olive and Sara. She is deeply involved in the Panhandle arts community through performing and teaching, and she values her time working with the students at Amarillo College.
