Amarillo College is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music. We currently offer an Associate of Science degree in Music (MUSI.AS) which is designed to transfer seamlessly to any four-year public institution in the state of Texas.
With an emphasis in performance skills and opportunities for our students, AC's Music degree fulfills the first two years of music curriculum for the student preparing to major in Music Performance, Music Education, Music Business, Music Therapy, Music Technology, etc., and specific degree plans by Instrument or Voice.

Students wishing to apply AP or other credit by exam options for Amarillo College credit must follow the procedures at https://www.actx.edu/registrar/credit-by-examination. Students must complete testing for MUSI 1116 and/or 1117 credit with Jim Laughlin by June of the admission year, plus complete applicable AC credit by exam paperwork with the registrar's office.
