Recording arts is a highly technical and creative field where basic entertainment is just the beginning. It is multidimensional and deals with audio in essentially all its forms and uses. As a crossroads of technology and creativity, recording arts is a cross-cultural and highly usable skillset for any musician.


GET YOUR AVID PRO TOOLS CERTIFICATION -
Learn at your own pace with our Amarillo College Continuing Education courses that offer AVID User-level instruction and certification for continuing education credit.  The new Mass Media Certificate – Recording Arts Option traditional studio courses offer hands-on experience and AVID User training, and students can earn academic college credit. You can take these courses in conjunction with your Associate’s degree, with the Mass Media Certificate – Recording Arts Option, or on their own.  We currently offer User and Music Operator level certifications in ProTools.

Amarillo College also houses an entirely student-run 100,000-watt radio station and public television station and offers comprehensive audio and video editing classes to prepare students to work in television, film, corporate video, radio, advertising, public relations, social media and related areas. Students gain hands-on experience in professional video production studios with live web-streaming, audio-editing and broadcast facilities and state-of-the-art computer labs.

Contact the Testing Center or the Program Advisor for testing requirements. Testing requirements are based on the unique needs of the certificate program.

Prepares students for positions in the media without the additional course work necessary for an Associate in Applied Science degree. Students completing the Mass Media certificate will be eligible for many entry level media positions in the radio/TV, film, digital recording, social media, and online marketing industries.
