Students not on financial aid suspension with pending or active grants/scholarships by August 14th will have their enrollment protected. Students with a remaining balance of their grant/scholarship funds after the payment of tuition/fees may charge books at the Amarillo College Bookstore from August 19th to August 29th.
Students enrolled in ALL Distance Ed classes:
To charge books against financial aid balances at the AC Bookstore, students should email the Financial Aid Office at financial@actx.eduand request an authorization code. Student i.d. numbers must be included with the request. Codes and instructions will be sent to the student via AmarilloCollege email addresses only. Authorization codes will not be released until financial aid has paid tuition and fees, and the student has a credit balance available. Local students do have the option to charge their books in person which saves on shipping costs and time.
The Business Office will begin processing grant/scholarship balances on September 3rd. Funds will be disbursed as soon as available. Please allow two weeks mailing delivery time from the Business Office.
Students with remaining credit balances after August 29th may continue to charge books at the bookstore through September 10th.Balance checks for these students will be disbursed approximately September 18th. Please allow two weeks mailing delivery time from the Business Office.
Students not on financial aid suspension with a pending loan award will have their enrollment protected if loan funds are received byAugust 25th. Loan funds will be applied to students' accounts after records have been checked for eligibility.
Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at the time loan funds are disbursed to be eligible to receive loan funds. Failure to attend at least 6 credit hours during the semester will result in cancellation of a student's loan, and the student will be required to repay the entire loan to Amarillo College.
Students need to log in to AC Connect to determine if their loan awards have been changed from pending to active prior to charging at the bookstore. Information can be found under the Self Service block, "Current Student", "Financial Aid", and "Financial Aid status by term". Funds will only be available after the loan award has been activated.

Fall only loan students will receive the first half of their loan during the first part of the semester, and the second half disbursed at the mid-point of the semester (October 21st).
You can view your award letter by logging in to AC Connect. On the right side, bottom, under the Self Service block, click on "Current Student", then "Financial Aid" and "Financial Aid award letter".
